"Superhero Week" Exceeds Expectations

This week-long event was done to recognize the front-line workers at Nob Hill Foods for their essential services during the pandemic and for the community to show their appreciation. The event took place in front of the grocery store's two entrances where two large signature boards were set up along with balloons, event posters and flyers. Volunteers encouraged shoppers to express their gratitude by writing their thoughts on the boards and, if they would like, add to the donation jar for the employees. Donated coffee, water and chips as well as chap sticks and hand sanitizers were handed out to all that wanted them.

The event was a huge success exceeding all expectations!
The signature boards have over 650 signatures of thoughtful, caring comments from the community. The donations collected were over $2,240 and will be used to provide the Nob Hill Foods employees with a special event to thank them for their services during the pandemic. The event was filled with comments of kindness and caring from the community and appreciation from many Nob Hill Foods employees.

A presentation was done inside Nob Hill Foods by Susie Ferris-Inderkum to present the signature boards to the employees and store manager, Mike Neil. Mayor Hudson then presented Mike with an Achievement Award and spoke of the community support for Nob Hill Foods Market Place. He asked us to "keep on shopping" to show Raleys that the Market Place store is valued by the community. Mike spoke to how difficult it was for the store employees during the pandemic and panic buying. He spoke of how in the early days of the pandemic the employees came to work everyday even when there were no protective barriers or masks and PPE available. He was very moved at the signature boards and the caring thoughts that the community expressed. |
